A workpiece can be formed or bent to a desire shape by applying certain forces in a controlled way

Ball pein hammer:Used to hit the workpiece into a shape

Bick iron stake: used to make a 90' bend

Folding bar: used with mallet to make a 90' bend in workpiece.

Side stake: used to make a cylindrical shape in workpiece.

Tinman's anvil:used to make a 90' bend

hatched stake:used to make an acute angle bend in workpiece.

Metal workpieces can also be bent by using appropriate forces. heat may sometimes be used to soften the metal so that it can be shaped more easily. However thin pieces of metal workpieces are often bent without the application of heat. This process is call cold bending.
